Dixie Stampede Pigeon
Forge
The Dixie Stampede Pigeon Forge is by far one the most entertaining and exciting shows I have
ever experienced. It’s conveniently located in the middle of Pigeon Forge. On top of a fantastic show you receive a
fabulous course dinner served, but don’t worry about silverware, it’s a hands only experience. Not only is the show
entertaining but your waiter or waitress is too. They are also a big part of the experience. You’ll be whisked back
in time when you are greeted by gorgeous southern belles at the front door.

This action-packed show for all ages actually begins around 50 minutes before the
real show starts, so be sure to come early. You won’t want to miss the Carriage Room Opening Act. These talented
entertainers will be sure to get your toes tapping and your feet stomping. There is no extra cost for this
memorable experience, so go ahead and snack on peanuts or popcorn from the concession stand, not to mention the
best hot chocolate I have ever had and are served in a souvenir boot shaped cup. If hot chocolate isn’t for you
there are many other downhome country inspired drinks of your choice (non-alcoholic of
course).

Pre-Show)
Immediately after the performance of Wild Oats, the doors of the huge 35,000-square foot arena
will open. Time for the Dixie Stampede show! The pure size of the arena is rather impressive, and for a show that
features so many animals, their presence isn’t noticed, until they appear. The horseriding and tricks performed are
nothing short of amazing.

All
you can smell is the delicious food, which is served almost immediately after being seated. The
four-course dinner at Dolly's Dixie Stampede begins with a delicious rich and creamy vegetable soup,
which. Believe me, the food is just as great as the show. The dinner is delicious and hearty,
with some of the best chicken I’ve ever tasted. The meal also includes a hickory-smoked barbecue pork loin,
buttered corn on the cob, seasoned potatoes, a country biscuit, and coffee, Pepsi or tea with free refills.
Vegetarian meals are also available on request. Dinner is made complete by dessert, a warm apple filled pastry.
Make sure you save room!
Another fun part of the show is that you to are a part of it. For instance, they chose
one of my family members to throw toilet seats at a stob simulating a rather redneckish game of horseshoes.
The arena is divided into the “north side” and “the south side”. The games that go on during the
show determines which side wins for the night.
For each game that is won your side receives a
medal.
The
Dixie Stampede Pigeon Forge during Christmas time there is also a special show you can attend filled with pure
christmas spirit. One part that I really enjoyed is when the toys came to life and showed a great
performance. There is also a scene from the birth of Jesus including Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus, shepards,
goats and camels. It is definitely a show that you don’t want to
miss.

After
the show there are many great gifts located in the gift shop including a place where you can create your own
stick horse. You are also greeted by some of the show’s performers.
So remember, if you are in the
Smoky Mountains and want to be entertained and enjoy dinner at a great price, be sure to check out the Dixie
Stampede Pigeon Forge.
